Traverseon Hot Tent: A First Look at a Stove Jack Teepee for UK Winter Camping
Updated: Oct 22
Quick, honest bit first. I have not tested this tent yet. Everything below comes from the spec sheet and the live listing, so treat it as a first look, not a field review. I will say if that changes.
I keep getting asked about a hot tent for winter camping in the UK, Cold nights, damp
ground, and a real wish to sit somewhere warm with a brew. So when the Traverseon Hot Tent popped up, I had a proper look.
What it is
It is a 1 to 3 person ultralight four season teepee with a stove jack built in. That is the bit that matters. A stove jack is a fire resistant panel where a stove pipe can go out through the fabric without melting it.
Here is what the listing says it has:
1 to 3 person, ultralight, four season teepee shape.
Integrated fire resistant stove jack.
PU3000 mm ripstop shell, so it should handle proper rain.
Centre pole or suspended setup, your choice.
Two doors plus closable ventilation.
The price
At time of writing it is £115.33, down from £240.27. The listing shows 4.58 out of 5 from 118 reviews. Prices can change, so check the page before you get excited.

Who might get on with a hot tent for winter camping UK?
Winter campers who are fed up with shivering in a standard tent. A teepee with a stove can make a cold night far more bearable, and it is a lot lighter than the old canvas bell tents.
Carp anglers on long night sessions. Plenty of us sit out in the cold for days. A tent you can heat, with two doors and vents, is tempting. Just remember most fisheries have rules on fires and stoves, so ask first.
Van lifers with a bit of space for a base camp. Pitch it next to the van for a warm place to cook and dry kit. Check the packed size before buying if your storage is tight.
Beginners, honestly, can try it too. The centre pole setup sounds simple. If you have never used a teepee, practise in the garden first.
Safety first, please
Stoves and tents are a serious mix. Read the stove maker's guidance and proper fire safety advice before you light anything. Never use a stove in a tent without proper ventilation. Carbon monoxide is odourless, and it kills. Keep the vents open, keep a CO alarm in there, and keep kit well away from the stove.
My take so far
On paper it ticks a lot of boxes for the money. Stove jack, decent waterproofing, two doors, ventilation. What I cannot tell you is how it holds up in wind, how well it keeps the heat in, or how it packs down. Only a night out would tell me that.
If it looks right for you, have a look at the Traverseon Hot Tent listing and read the reviews yourself. Then tell me what you think.
Also on a cold night: the heated shawl preview and the heated seat cushion for fishing are two ways to stay warmer outside the tent.
